Forcing women to undergo an invasive, medically-unnecessary, and painful transvaginal ultrasound because they are seeking a legal medical procedure is morally wrong. It is no different than rape. It is mechanical rape. How can a legislator have the right to force a woman seeking an abortion to endure such a hideous violation of her body. The ultrasound is clearly being used as a smokescreen... A way to shame and punish women seeking legal abortions. How is this any different than women who are punished by stoning in other parts of the world? Laws that force women to be mechanically raped are frighteningly reminiscent of the Taliban.
I respectfully ask you Mr. President to make forced internal ultrasounds and mechanical rape a federal crime.
