By making it a law that all buses must drive under 55mph is not only for the safety of the passengers it is for the safety of all vehicles. Here in northern California on our very windy freeways the buses will drive over our speed limits (65mph), down very steep windy roads and pushing the cars down the road with no regard for the safety of their passengers and/or the vehicles surrounding them.
