make it a federal offense to deny a child a standard school lunch for any reason.

Created by K.D. on May 12, 2014

When a child is denied a proper school lunch for inability to pay or an unpaid balance, they suffer not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. A hungry child can't think and learn efficiently.

When a lunch is taken away because of inability to pay or an unpaid balance, the child is humiliated in the eyes of their peers as well. This opens the door to teasing and bullying which can further impede learning.

Please assure by law that all children receive a full and nutritious school lunch regardless of a family's financial status, ensure each child's chance for academic success, and preserve their dignity.
