Make it illegal for 3rd party websites to gather and publicly display personal information, on the internet or otherwise

Created by J.E. on November 18, 2014

Over the years, websites like Spokia and now Intelius have been taking the personal information (i.e. address, jobs, etc.) that we provide to purchase things or use social media, and they have been publishing it across the internet.

When this happens:

1) You are not notified that your information is being published for the whole world to see/find...

2) You don't know what information is being published, current or irrelevant...

3) Any party from potential employers to stalkers can gather enough information about you to more easily track you down.

My issue is not that these companies have this information and are selling it. Targeted marketing is an establish business trend. However, they are publishing this info to -anyone- how knows how to Google your name!
