We The People of the USA are tired of listening to outright lies and misrepresentation from politicians. The fact that elected officials are able to say and do anything, true or not, makes it impossible for The People to take an effective part in shaping the government we want. It should go without saying that We demand honesty from our leaders and it is unfathomable that lying to or misleading the public in any way is not only allowed but accepted. Further, representatives of elected officials or candidates running for office must also be held accountable to penalties of law if they knowingly make any untrue statement in furtherance of promoting their candidate or officeholder.
