In June, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more ) was 5.4 million. These people accounted for 41.9 percent of the unemployed. Most unemployed people (12.7 million) probably have poor credit. Businesses cannot be allowed to adversely affect job-seekers any more!
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is an unjust United States federal law allowing businesses to use its information as a hiring filter for employment purposes. The FCRA requires businesses to:
1.Notify the consumer when an adverse action is taken on the basis of such reports.
2.I.D. the company that provided the report, so that the accuracy and completeness of the report may be verified or contested by the consumer.
Most jobseekers never know about a rejection due to poor credit! This must end!
