The right to bear arms protected under the second amendment "Shall not be infringed" in any way. According to the FBI more people are killed with blunt objects every year than assault weapons, and those who do use assault weapons with malice intent have no regard for the law and will not abide by a ban on assault weapons. The only people who will be affected are those millions of law abiding Americans who use these tools for hunting, sporting, self defense, and many other legal activities.
Please Obama, when you read this petition because of the hundred of thousands of signatures have some respect for the Constitution and the rights of the people who are lucky enough to live with the freedom the great United States of America provides.
