The media (magazines, TV, and newspapers) need to be reformed. Today's society blames rape victims for sexual assault due to the way they dress, their sexual history, and so much more. This needs to stop, otherwise rape will not be considerd a gross and horrible act done against another human being, but a violating act that was deserved because of how a person looks, acts, or presents him or herself. This is a cruel and unusual punishment for sexual assault victims in the the United States of America.
It should be made illegal to blame a victim for an assault. The media should not highlight how the attacker's life was changed for the worse because she or he decided to rape someone. The media should highlight how the rape was a horrible violation against another human being.
