Make it illegal for clickbait websites to present the existence of some comical White House petition as news.

Created by L.O. on November 06, 2013

Being unable, or unwilling, to report actual news, or to meet the barest minimum of blogging standards by reacting to someone else's news peg with a creative riff, or 'big picture' think piece, far too many clickbait websites use the existence of a White House petition as an excuse to present the whims of some deranged whacko or other as if it were something that a single person in the world needs to be made aware of. It's the contemporary equivalent of "There's even a Facebook page dedicated to it!" style nonsense, or, reaching further back "It even has its own website!"

The existence of a petition on this site, unless it's received millions of endorsements, is not, for lack of a better term, "a thing."

bye.
