Every day in America families are ripped apart by divorce. Judges are forced to decide which parent children will live with and how often those children should see the non-custodial parent. Yet often the custodial parent withholds the ability to see or even speak to the children from the non-custodial parents for the purpose of leverage, revenge, or other reasons unrelated to legal proceedings. This is not only contempt of court but is also a violation of the human rights of the children and the non-custodial parent. We move that the president convene a commission and determine what the federal government can do to aid non-custodial parents in their fight to remain a part of their children's lives.
