make it illegal to discriminate a person for his past criminal record.

Created by S.M. on May 22, 2014

It should be illegal to discriminate against a person who has had a felony in the past and has served their time, paid their fines, and are no longer on probation. These people have a right to be able to support themselves and their families. It is a human right. If they can't find a job to feed their families, they are forced to go back to the only way they know to survive. The criminal system say they are rehabilitating them, teaching them values, job skills, education. But what use are these if no one gives them a job. People make mistakes. Some are serious. But you learn from your mistakes. And as long as you can put those mistakes behind you, then you can succeed in your future. But holding them back for a mistake that they have paid for, that happened years ago is a crime in itself.
