Make it illegal for employers to require that applicants must be bilingual

Created by J.F. on November 17, 2011

Employers hiring based on a person being able to speak more than one language is a form of discrimination. It is unfair to exclude persons who are skilled for a job but who only speak English and no second language. It should be against the law for employers to require that applicants be bilingual, in the same way that it is against the law for employers to discriminate based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, and age.
