Lethal drone strikes against U.S. citizens should be made illegal. Our government, or any of its corresponding agents or agencies should never be allowed to have this power. We as citizens of this nation have a right to due process of the law. This is stated in both the 5th, and 14th amendments in our constitution. By allowing drone strikes to be initiated against our own people we effectively forfeit this right. The National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2012 already allows anybody to be held without due process, based on suspicion alone, we should not allow our government this option as well. The implications are terrifying.
