Make it illegal to impersonate U.S. Military Service Members

Created by J.S. on November 14, 2012

Nation wide, it is illegal to impersonate a police officer. Why is it not illegal to impersonate a member of any of the branches of the U.S. Military? With the influx of veterans returning home from Iraq or Afghanistan, there is also an influx of fakers trying to reap the respect and benefits that these real veterans are entitled to. There is also an influx of celebrities, and regular civilians alike donning the uniform or parts of it as a fashion statement. This is a slap in the face to our service members past and present. Every service member past and present has earned the uniform. Bled for that uniform, or died for that uniform. It is time we show our veterans some respect, and make it illegal to impersonate a military service member
