It is a growing trend for corporations to include in their mandatory service agreements clauses that prohibit users from entering into class action lawsuits. This prevents consumers from contesting any grievances they may have against a company because it is not financially possible to do so. A private individual cannot hope to match the financial backing that a company can bring to a legal proceeding. Clauses such as these potentially allow companies to get away with stealing small amounts of money from millions of customers and leaving the customers no recourse for compensation. Class action lawsuits are a right the people of the United States must maintain.
