Massachusetts State Representative Carlos Henriquez refuses to resign and is being allowed to continue serving as a lawmaker from behind bars after being convicted of assaulting a woman for refusing to have sex with him. This man has demonstrated a lack of ethics and a disregard for the rights of others. How he was not immediately terminated upon discovery of his conviction is a blatant miscarriage of justice and something must be done to ensure that violent criminals - especially those who commit violent crimes against women - are not welcome among our lawmaking bodies. Please make conviction of violent crimes a terminable offense for Senators and Representatives, both State and Federal.
