Schools all across America are taking away our Children's recess time or cutting it short. They maximize time in a classroom because they believe book smarts are the only necessity for developing children into self-sufficient adults. However, recess is the time when children are able to create friendships, learn how to associate with others appropriately, and learn social skills that many people lack. In addition, studies have shown that recess and breaks from learning make it easier for kids to absorb the knowledge they have been given. It also gives children time to get their energy out and do physical activity. Please sign this petition to make all public schools have frequent and necessary recess periods for all children and adolescents in the USA.
