Make it illegal to not pick up your dog or cat's poop in public places or on other people's property - very unhealthy!

Dog feces is as high as 3rd on the list of contributors to contaminated water. Dog feces may contain parvovirus, whipworms, hookworms, roundworms, threadworms, tapeworms, campylobacteriosis, giardia, coccidian, cryptosporidiosis and E. coli. If left unattended, these parasites will contaminate the water, soil, and can cause infection in both pets and humans (especially children). The microscopic Hookworm larvae can be passed to another pet or person directly through the skin or by accidental ingestion as can other bacteria. A lot of these parasites actually become more infectious as the poop ages. Pets infected with Salmonella or Campylobacter produce stool that is immediately infectious to people. A recent CDC study found 14 percent of Americans tested positive for roundworms.
