The media frenzy over the deaths of 20 1st-graders at the hands of a deranged 20-year old male generated 10s of millions of dollars of revenue for corporations and well paid media pundits, as well as making much more likely that such an act will happen again sooner rather than later.
We know from suicides that publicizing them increases the likelyhood that they wlll happen again. We need to grieve and comfort the victims, and each other, when these things happen, but NO-ONE should profit off of such an event. Removing that motive from such media activities would lessen the likelyhood & frequency of future atrocities as this.
ANY revenue that was made from such coverage BY ANYONE should be forfeited by the those involved and used for legitimate aid to victims and prevention activities.
