There is a trend in which people who do something illegal, and/or unethical, get reality shows, book deals, speaking tours, or get paid to "tell their story." The media has basically turned getting punished for a crime, into getting rewarded for it.
Pass laws that say, for example: "A person has to forfeit all payment received from public appearances/product endorsements, and pay a fine, if such appearances/endorsements were obtained via fame based on breaking the law."
One (out of countless examples): Rod Blagojevich broke the law, he became famous because he broke the law, that fame resulted in a pistachio commercial—and he'll probably get a reality show when he comes out of jail... It's just not right.
