We believe that giving out detailed information about individuals who commit these heinous acts is not for our benefit. It encourages, not deters, these persons to get notoriety for their crimes. It rewards them for their behavior.
They do not deserve the recognition. We should not honor them by having their face plastered on the cover of news papers. Or their names uttered on radio stations. By doing so, it gives them an undeserved "15 minutes of fame".
