Consumers are being misled to believe they are paying premium prices for seafood but are actually being sold substitutes that are made to taste similar. Two examples of this are crab meat and Calamari. Suppliers are substituting pork rectum for squid and putting imitation crab meat in recipes and not notifying consumers. This practice is misleading consumers to pay premium prices for inferior products without disclosure and causing others to unknowingly break religious practices not allowing them to eat certain foods like pork or beef. This is a petition for food suppliers from the harvester to the person who sell it to the individual consumer be held accountable for misrepresentation and make the misrepresentation of food products illegal.
