Some states are making it illegal for citizens to live off grid with their own power and water sources for unknown reasons. I believe off grid living should be encouraged more if we are to help lower emissions of greenhouse gases that led to climate change. If the reason for such an act is for the safety of the homeowner, then have set limits required to be met before off grid living can be approved. I believe at least 5,000 watts of sustained power over a 6 hour period is enough for electrical needs, and as long as the water source meets EPA requirements as outlined for utility water supply, then it should be okay to use your own source. Waste should be tied to a septic system or public sewer. Waste is not something that should managed by the homeowner. Just water and electricity.
