Make It Illegal To Use Credit Scores/Ratings For Anything But Obtaining Credit or Loans

Created by C.T. on September 28, 2011

Credit scores and ratings should not be used for anything but to obtain credit or loans. It should be illegal for these scores and ratings to be used for such things as employment eligibility/hiring, auto/car insurance premiums or other non-credit/loan activities.

There are good people with bad credit ratings/scores, as well as bad people with good credit ratings/scores. Therefore, a credit rating or score is useless in determining the character of potential new-hires, nor is it an accurate predictor of who will have more auto/car insurance claims in the future and thus pay higher insurance rates just because they have a lower credit rating/score.

Using credit scores/ratings for anything but loans and credit is discriminatory and should be outlawed.
