With the new Eric Sheppard "challenge" being you must walk on the American flag, I as a Boy Scout and most likely a future soldier that it is wrong in every way possible to walk on the flag, let alone have it on the ground. I'm only asking that burning, walking on, hanging upside down, and such like that should be illegal. I'm not saying that if it touches the ground, stuff happens and it's happened to me before, and I'm not saying that you should have to face jail time, I'm just saying that there should be a fine, not huge, but not small enough to the point that people are fine with just paying it and walking on it again. I understand that it goes partially against the first amendment, but the flag represents all things American and you clearly don't support the American dream.
