Given that the economy is so bad, multiple rejections from potential employers are common. However, employers who refuse to tell rejected applicants just why they were rejected are in no way helping those refused individuals. To help those genuinely seeking jobs, they need to know what mistakes they continue to make while on the job hunt. Or what skills they are missing to best fulfill their desired positions.
Laws are already in place to protect individuals from discrimination, which is likely why employers don't often tell applicants why they're refused. But if an employer is rejecting someone on just grounds (even if it's something like, "You don't fit our company culture"), they should have nothing to fear. And to better protect job seekers, shouldn't we have a right to know why?
