The rate of teenagers and young adults who self harm and/or have suicidal thoughts is higher than it ever has been. Suicide and self mutilation are glorified in today's society.
Though I have learned a little about it in my health clases, I never thought I would have become a victim to such an awful mental illness of depression. As a recovering self harmer, it has come to my attention that more and more teens undergoing the stress of family, grades, friends, relationships, jobs, and lack of sleep have considered such drastic measures for relief.
I believe that if we can get a worldwide program organized, we can still sculpt the young's minds into showing the consequences. We need to set up a support system for anyone who needs it. WE have the chance to save lives, WE need to take it.
