this petition is based on the notion that not all people and not all situations deserve the same treatment. there are individuals that have had run ins with the law who have not physically harmed any other human being but, they have a felony. now that person is ineligible to protect their home, their family, or their possessions because of that record. having a record does not mean that you are a violent person. and it should not disqualify anyone the right to protect those same things that each and every American holds dear.
