I believe veterans should automatically have Veteran's Day off, paid, even if their place of business is not closed. Is the day not to remember all who fought and are fighting for our freedom? Should they not be the ones to benefit from the holiday? It is supposed to be about them. After all they have done for us, one paid day off should not be too much to give. Many veterans are working on that day while others, who have not served, are off and enjoying the holiday. I understand that not all businesses want to totally shut down, but as stated above, shouldn't our veterans get their special day off?
