Had this awesome idea when I was looking at an 18-wheeler. Why isn't there a big battery attached to the frame of the trailer and the tractor is actually a generator with regenerative braking system. And have aerodynamic side skirts to reduce drag around the trailer. Thus increasing the the fuel efficiency of all trucks in the United States of America and decreasing our demand on foreign oil. The commercial vehicle industry is massive and lots of money will be saved. Build/retrofit them in America and you will also create jobs. It is a great idea and it is a very patriotic move.
