Children with disabilities are in crisis when their parents die and no provisions have been made for them. Please make it mandatory that each parent who divorces and has a disabled child (or one that becomes disabled, even after the divorce) to provide life insurance in a sufficient amount to care for the child after the parent dies. Too many people with severe disabilities are suddenly either homeless or locked away in a low quality care home where they have no money for simple necessities.
It should be the responsibilty of the parents, not the state or federal government to take care of their own children.
