Make it mandatory for employers to allow one hour breaks with pay for those employees working more than 10 hours a shift

Created by R.V. on June 10, 2015

It came to my attention that in the state of Florida there is no mandatory break time that employers have to abide by. So I researched it on the federal level and I found out that there was no law either. The only thing I found is that if an employee receives no break then he or she is entitled to get paid for that time that they didn't get relief. I believe this is preposterous! We should be entitled to at least a hour break with pay if working more than ten hours in a shift. If this rule is put into place it will force companies to employee more people in order to rotate break times, which in turn would increase productivity and quality. Think about it how many of us go an entire shift without eating or eat at our desk or work stations. How much quality can really be produced?
