Make it Mandatory for the FAA that all Commercial Aircraft, Regardless of Size or Cargo, be equipped with a Black Box.

Created by D.M. on December 20, 2013

On December 2nd, 2013 Jason William McLaughlin was flying in a commercial twin engine cargo plane (Fairchild SA227) that crashed into the mountains of Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

Little is known about the crash because not all commercial aircraft require Black Boxes. We, the family, were not aware of this. Now we will never know exactly what happened. Even with a full NTSB investigation, we will always have questions. Had there been a Black Box equipped, we could have answers immediately.

Including common sense technology that is cheaply available like GPS, flotation, and other tracking and audio recording equipment in commercial aircraft, will not only aid in investigations, but give the family peace of mind.

We want to know what happened. We deserve that. Everybody deserves that.
