Make it more difficult, and harder to obtain automatic weapons in the United States of America.

In recent attacks, many harmless United States citizens have died in public as a result of being shot with a fully automatic weapon. The Aurora Shooting was a big case that took a dozen vulnerable lives that night. There have been college shootings like Virginia Tech in '07 that took 30 lives. There was also another incident at Texas A&M this year that took three lives. The place this occurred was just blocks away from the football stadium, on the sixth biggest campus in the nation.
Why do people need automatic weapons? The most common answers are for self protection or for hunting. Self protection you can use a cheaper, smaller handgun, or shotgun like most people. For hunting, an automatic would tear the animal up, and ruin the meat.
There are no purposes for automatic weapons.
