Many people are allergic to latex. When restaurants use latex gloves to handle and prepare food, it puts people at risk. Consumers cannot visit these places, therefore limiting them to places they can dine out with their families.
A number of states, including North Carolina for one, have implemented policies that ban the use of latex gloves in food preparation but some establishments must follow a corporate policy to use them. If there is a national ban on them, then large corporations wouldn't be able to use them.
