There are way too many people out there claiming to be meteorologist when they have not put in the time, effort, or research necessary to be considered scientists. "Meteorologist" should be a title bestowed on those who have completed at least a 4 year university program in Atmospheric Science or similar degree. There are too many "false meteorologist" out there on social media and other outlets spreading unnecessary panic over modeled weather events because they do not understand the atmosphere or model initialization, trends, and errors. People have a certain degree of trust when they see the word "meteorologist" and those who are not scientifically qualified should not be able to use the title for their own personal gains.
