The checks and balances will improve by holding the Office of the Inspector Generalâ accountable, when issues like the VA Medical issue occurs.
The Office of Inspector Generalâ (IG) should be our first level of information. I just completed 13 Months in Afghanistan finding over 81 Million Dollars in waste that the (IG) should have identified as early as 2005.
This is my justification for placing the blame on the OIG and not the VA Director. We know that at some point the IG received a complaint.
I am very displeased with the OIG not being accountable, at some point and time the IG did receive complaints about the misconduct and the treatment of our VET's. I know because I am a Veteran and we know how to address an issue. The IG is the place we start with a complaint.
