Make it unlawful for elected officials to misrepresent facts to the general public by misusing the 1st amendment

Created by C.C. on September 25, 2011

We elect individuals to represent the greater good of this country, not personal agendas and corporate interests. We pay their salaries, health care and retirement funds through our tax dollars for the remainder of their lives. This should bring a higher level of accountability. Being able to intentionally lie about facts should be unlawful given their status and responsibility to all Americans. Everything that they put forth for as "truth" must be put to fact checks because the American public has in every sense of the word placed their lives, livelihoods and their futures into elected officials hands. When we continue to reward lack of character and integrity we are equally responsible for the negative outcomes. Stop using taxes as an excuse to pit the innocent against the privileged.
