Women in the military are frequently victims of sexual assault. Women in combat roles do not have time to deal with filling prescriptions and taking daily birth control pills. IUDs (intrauterine devices) are the most effective form of reversible birth control and require extremely little maintenance. Depending on the type of IUD, they can remain effective for up to twelve years. When a woman wants to have a child, she can simply have the device removed by her doctor. We already have a huge problem with sexual violence in the military. Let's do everything we can to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies that arise from it.
