Homelessness among college students is growing at an alarming rate.Everyday students are faced with the decisions to choose between feeding themselves paying for books or having an adequate place to sleep. Recently a bill was passed to make college students ineligible for food assistance unless they can obtain a job working 40 hours a week; however for those unable to meet these requirements they are left to fend for themselves. Being an independent full time college student myself I have felt the devastating effects this changed has caused among many others like me. Many people pursue college degrees in hopes of making a better life for them and their families but are left with empty promises and stomachs.
