The US lost the 8 of the last 10 Ryder Cups. This is an international embarrassment and should not be allowed to continue. A major shake up is required. On 3 Aug, as reported by Golf.com and others, John Daly expressed interest in the Ryder Cup captaincy for the US team. He stated that his leadership style would be fun-first approach. John Daly's leadership is critical for these reasons: First, he would boost the morale of the US team. Second, John Daly's low-key, friendly, common-man demeanor may keep competitors off guard and will improve US diplomacy abroad. Third, he knows what real adversity is making an ideal coach. Fourth, he's the exact opposite of a European. Lastly, he would undoubtedly pick some outstanding team uniforms (especially the pants).
