Whereas no American comedian/humorist living today with the sole exception of Dick Gregory, has done more to advance the political discussions in our nation on a variety of topics through humor, satire and comedy than Jon Stewart and no living American so accurately fills the place that Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain) held in our nation more than a century ago we respectfully request that President Obama use what influence he has with the directors of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to make Jon Stewart the next recipient of the Mark Twain Award for American Humor.
