Make judges in all fifty states elected officials to four year terms

State judges, including state Supreme Court justices, are elected in many states. Seven states have partisan election of these justices, and electing lower court judges is common. Thirty-nine states have judicial elections at some level already.
The reason for this petition is to make judges accountable for their actions when allowing a convicted rapist to escape jail time. Checks and balances need to be implemented in our court system.
The public will be able to remove a judge that does not uphold the laws. Particularly regarding the most heinous crime of all; rape; which lasts a lifetime. Then will the last phrase of the pledge of allegiance “with liberty and justice for all” come true for rape victims. Letting a convicted rapist walk free is not justice. This is yet another crime.
