Make July 20th a national holiday; "Apollo day"

Created by B.P. on February 04, 2013

July 20th, 1969, marks one of the greatest accomplishments in the history of not only the United States of America, but all of humankind - the day the first Humans stepped foot on an extraterrestrial body. And yet, nearly 44 years later, an appropriate recognition of this momentous occasion remains to be seen.

Public opinion on the importance of space exploration continues to drop along with space funding. Space exploration has forwarded technology in nearly every way and inspired generations of scientists and engineers. It is important maintain an excited disposition toward advancing our place in space for that reason.

Please turn July 20th into a national holiday, "Apollo Day", as a reminder of the day we took one giant leap, and of what we can accomplish as a people, and as Americans.
