Make killing any law enforcement officer a federal offense punishable by the death penalty or life in federal prison.

With the recent targeting of police and law enforcement officers the consequences for these actions need to be more severe. Current laws and punishments are not deterring this heinous act so the stakes need to be raised. Federal, state, and local law enforcement, corrections officers, probation, parole and prosecutors provide services that are invaluable and that put them and their families at risk. On duty killings and off duty targeting needs to be addressed in the most serious manner.
