Victim's of Domestic Violence currently have NO rights and no options to be heard. A judge in Clackamas County, OR once said said to a victim of DV when she asked if she had any rights "no, not once the state got involved." This is unjust and NOT right. A victim is still a person and should be allowed her rights. Though many may not agree with a victim's desire to re-establish a relationship with their offender it is THEIR right to make that decision. The law needs to be that there is a mandatory 120 days of no contact to allow both signs to focus. When the 120 days is up the VICTIM has the right to decide the next step and contact MUST be allowed. NO ONE, including the state should be allowed to interfere with ANYONE'S rights to make a choice.
