With the removal of the ban on women in combat situations, it has come to our attention that equal opportunity for women in the military should not just apply to those who are already serving, but also to those prospective soldiers who could be called to service in a draft. If the culture is to reflect equal opportunities in all aspects of the military, then the laws that require mandatory military service in the event of a draft should apply to citizens of both sexes. We are petitioning for a change of the selective service registration to reflect this.
