the constitution states that prisoners may be used or considered as "slave" labor. Instead of paying tax dollars to house these people in a prison where all they learn to do is become better criminals, give non-violent offenders the option or simply assign them to military duty , with no or little pay, for the duration of thier sentence or a minimum of 5 years. This will teach the offenders disipline, cut tax expenders in this area greatly, and save lives of honest men and women who play by the rules.
