This is a petition to pass a law requiring all guns sold in the United States to contain a gps tracking device and matching digital + physical serial number. This would be embedded in the metal and impossible to remove without melting the metal of the gun. Anytime tracking information is disrupted, police would be notified.
The device would make it impossible for an individual to sell more than one gun on the black market or use the same gun in more than one crime.
It would also be an immense help in solving crimes.
Police would need reasonable cause, like for a warrant to search a home, to access the information. It would include a digital serial number + a physical serial number on the gun to failsafe misidentification.
