Access to expeditient urgent mental health care for those who are not expressing homicidal or suicidial ideations is non existent. One who has realized their own need for mental health intervention should never be forced to hunt , interview for ,or pitch their problems to tens to hundreds of mental health providers for help only to be turned down by most or forced to wait several weeks for an appointment . We will not make progress on behavior health without strong legislation on preventative measures to curb the reactionary,traumatizing, dangerous, and sometimes deadly measures that require police intervention and forced mental health detention. Make early mental health services easy and fast for patients BEFORE the escalation homicidal or suicidal thoughts or both.
